Greetings-
It is hard to believe that Easter weekend is upon us based on large amount of snow coming down today.

We wanted to update everyone on a few important events concerning REACT. 

 

Jeni & The Twins: Things continue to progress well for Jeni and the twins.  We plan on Jeni going into St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 30^th for continuous monitoring of the twins.  She is feeling fine, enjoys the kicks of the twins, and appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers.  Please feel free to drop her a line.  I know she’ll appreciate your kind thoughts. 

 

 

Saturday April 19^th “Help Our Neighborhood” River Clean-Up Community Outreach/Social Event

This spring’s REACT social-outreach event will be participating in a river/park clean-up with Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers.  The clean-up will take place on Saturday morning April 19^th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park.  Participants should plan to meet at the Lincoln Park Golf Course parking lot at 1000 W. Hampton Avenue.  

 

Garbage bags will be provided from Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and wear weather-appropriate clothing for the clean-up.  With our long winter, Lincoln Park is likely to be especially dirty and muddy- please be prepared to get messy, but have fun in the process J.  After the clean up, we will proceed to Kopp’s Frozen Custard on Port Washington Road for lunch and/or a custard treat after a morning of hard work. 

 

For more information on the clean-up, check out the Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers website http://www.milwaukeerivercleanup.org. This event is open to all St. C’s parishioners, youth, their friends, and anyone else who would be willing to give a couple of hours to help out. We will have certificates available for Middle or High School students who are in need of community service hours for their schools as well.  Please RSVP to let us know if you are able to lend a hand helping beautify our neighborhood with this social outreach experience.

 

 

The Gathering:
The REACT Youth Group and the Mexico Service Team will help serve at The Gathering at St. Andrew’s on Saturday May 10^th.  This event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  More information will follow closer to the date.

 

 

REACT Services:
We have three remaining REACT services left for the 2007-2008 school/church year.  Wow, does time ever fly!  If you haven’t ever been to a REACT service, now is a great time to come and check one out.  If you are a REACT service regular, I hope to see you there too.  Please feel free to bring friends.  REACT Service is held in “The Cave” (the downstairs youth area) from 10:00-10:40 a.m.  At 10:40, the youth return upstairs for communion and the end of the adult service.
