Jan Kwiatkowski, Associate Rector - send an Email

Jan and her husband Dennis are Milwaukee natives. They have four young adult sons and a daughter-in-law. Two dogs and two cats complete their household.  They began their spiritual journey in the Roman Catholic Church and found the place in the Episcopal Church in the early 1990’s. Jan holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education (and a near minor in Liturgical Music) from Alverno College in Milwaukee. Jan was ordained to the diaconate in December of 2002 and served St. Christopher’s at that time as Deacon and Director of Christian Formation. In June of 2003, Jan received an MS in Organizational Psychology from Capella University. While completing a year and a half of study at Seabury Western Theological Seminary, she served for 3+ years as Director of Pastoral Care at Saint John’s On the Lake. She was ordained to the priesthood on September 14, 2006. Starting in October of 2007, Jan will enter a two year course of study with the Clergy Leadership Project. The Clergy Leadership Project is a national initiative formed to develop and strengthen clergy leaders, supporting new visions for vigorous ministries in their congregations and communities as well as support their personal growth. Knitting, reading, yoga, swimming and having coffee at the nearest coffee shops are her ideal ways to spend free time.

Sally Walters, Director of Children's Ministries - send an Email

Growing up in Whitefish Bay, in the shadow of Foodlane, I dreamt of “bright lights, big city” and where my life might take me.  I didn’t get too far away until I turned 22, after 16 years of parochial school education at Holy Family, Dominican High, St. Norbert College and Marquette University; I finally left Milwaukee and headed to Halifax, Nova Scotia. That was the beginning of a nomadic life that led me through St. Louis, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and New York City, and a dizzying array of careers as a dental hygienist, a department store buyer, a wholesaler, a senior executive sales manager, a realtor and an entrepreneur. In 2003, I came back home to Milwaukee and found a little house in Glendale so that I could be more of a caregiver to my 86 year old father. Because I have my own business as a manufacturer’s representative, I can be anywhere in WI or IL, or back home, in a matter of hours.

If God plants us where we need to grow, he sure has given me some fantastic gardens to play in.  I have been blessed with a flexible schedule that has allowed me to pursue my own interests as well as to mentor others in their own growth.  My roles as “AuntieMame” to my precious nieces, “Turn Around Agent” in business, “Big Sis and Boss” to numerous executives in sales organizations and now “Cruise Director” at St. Christopher’s come naturally and happily to me. With God’s help, and everyone’s involvement, I hope to provide counsel, energy, commitment, and inclusion to all the members of St. Christopher’s in this new ministry.
